Hello and excuse me for writig in English but, shame on me, I don't know German!
I have a big problem with a device from Magellan.
Exactly, is a Roadmate 1415 bought on second hand and who don't want to pass thru over a strange startup screen.
When I start it, appear a keybord screnn where need to insert an serial number from 12 characters. What should I do, because the serial number of the device have 13 characters and is not accepted. If I press "exit", appear a message "Please insert MGNSHELL Card.

The device is not stollen (I have the original receipt from Spain) and for that I asked also Magellan customer support but not any answer till now.
I'll apreciate if you have an answer.
Thank you![/img]

please try to type the serialnumber without the leading 0 (zero).

Is the keyboard styled or does it look like a generic WindowsCE On-Screen-keyboard ?

thanks for the pictures. Your unit is missing the navigation application. You should have an SD Card containing the navigation data and the navigation applications installed in Roadmates internal memory. To check this, you can connect the Roadmate to your PC. You should see a removable storage (TFAT) with at least a folder APP containing the mgnShell.exe and navigator.exe. If not, the unit should be replaced.

the SD card contain only the maps, no other files.
the unit can not be connected to the PC; is not recognized.
so, I guess to need a way for can access the device.
for my unlock, the method who work for restoring RM 1200 doesn't work for 1415.
any ideea?

thank you!
