Hi Inkognito,
did you find how many points per track can Triton save in one track ?
I mean did Magellan finally overcome 2000 pts per track limit ?
Best regards,
Davor

Hi Davor,
don't You have the technical specifcations ?
I'm not allowed to publish any technical data, but I think it may help You when i say: The Triton 2000 can handle a much waypoints as an eXplorist can save trackpoints

Hi Inkognito,
yes we receive tech specs from Magellan, but there's no mention about that
Thanks anyway

You really got the comparison chart?
The worst case would be the CrossoverGPS concept adapted to the new Triton, where You have a limit of 2000 points per track but can have up to 10 tracks in the internal memory. That's 20.000 points in total combined with the ability of an automatic cration of a new trackfile when the current track reaches the 2000 point limit. Due to the advanced filemanagement, i never had any problems with "only" 2000 points.

automatic creation of a new track file...
How to do that? I always have to do it manually when the tracklog is full.

i was talking about the concept
The current version of the Crossover firmware does not support this function.

Last hear-say from US Triton users says that Tritons can save 10000 pts per track, which is 5 times more then previous models including CrossOver

That is what i tried to express with my "waypoint" posting. All known limits of the eXplorist are multiplicated by 5

Yep, that's great.
Now, we are waiting for our test Triton
I'm specially interested in automotive capabilities, since recently we have ability to create road maps for him, and jack-pot would be voice guidance feature

My Testdevice did not contain an activated carnavigation profile. As i was told this will be a seperate upgrade, but will work similar to the Maestros incl. voice output. Even a heartbeatmonitor can be connected to the Triton
... if You like sports

Well, my sport is Billiard, you know, slow and easy, some fine cognac, good cigar
)
But this heartbeat monitor connection could be interesting for some real sportsmen.
