Ausschalten geht da mit:

1. Akkus raus
2. ESC+Select+Power

Mehr habe ich noch nicht rausfinden koennen. Alle anderen Menuepunkte kann ich dann zwar anwaehlen aber es passiert (jedenfalls fuer mich erkennbar) nichts mehr.
Ein "rauskommen" aus diesem Modus ist mir bisher ohne ausschalten nicht gelungen.

Langsam wird der Triton ja zu dem als was er gedacht ist.

Werde den Umbau hoffendlich bald testen koennen.

Du kannst ueber die Taste Menue in die Leiste kommen und von dort den Menuepunkt HDD anwaehlen. Darin wiederum laesst sich der Bildbetrachter, OutdoorNav.exe starten.
Jedoch beenden geht nur ueber Esc-Enter-Power.

Den Photoviewer bekomme ich nicht gestartet. Wenn ich mgnshell starte kann ich nachher den T500 auch wieder normal ausschalten.
Es gibt 3 Punkte unter HDD
mgnshell -> startet den Triton anscheinend in den "normalen" Modus.
Outdoornav -> startet den Triton, aber er reagiet nicht auf irgendeine Taste!
Photoviewer -> keine Reaktion.

Auch File -> exit mach nicht das was es vermuten laesst.

Die anderen Sachen habe ich noch nicht ausprobiert.

Das klappt aber nur, wenn der Triton nicht mit dem PC verbunden ist. Sobald das USB Kabel steckt und auf dem PC ein weiteres Laufwerk angezeigt wird, bleibt ein Aufruf von mgnshell ohne Effekt.

Die shell und die outdoornav koennen nicht getrennt werden. Teile der Dialoge kommen aus der mgnShell und nicht aus der outdoornav. Ihr muesst also immer beides starten - erst die Shell, dann die outdoornav. Beim Abschalten des Triton, wird ein unload auf die outdoornav ausgefuehrt und wenn das HWND destroyed ist, beendet sich auch die ueberwachende shell und ruft als Final ein API Funktion zum Beenden auf. Beendet man die Shell ohne dass eine Ueberwachung auf die Outdoornav ausgefuehrt wurde, wird auch kein Abschalten initiiert.

ich habe mit dem Trackcopy-Tool nichts zu tun. Es ist doch prima, dass es findige User gibt, die sowas austuefteln. Ein Hoch auf Sockeye !

Hi Harry,

der Zuender kam aus dem US Forum, von dem User F@re aus Kroatien. Der hatte die Idee die Autostartfunktion umzubiegen.
Ich hab dann nur noch 1+1 zusammengezaehlt...

Als Alternative boote ich meinen T2000 ueber SD-Karte (Total Triton 1500 mod), starte den TotalComander und kopiere die Tracks von der HDD auf meine Speicherkarte. Danach loesche ich die Tracks von meinem Triton

Hallo,

habe alles so, wie Sockeye es in seinem Beitrag beschrieben hat ausgefuehrt und die .bin Dateien wurden auf die SD unter Tracks geschrieben. Dann habe ich diese Dateien in den Waypointer importiert, konnte sie aber dann nicht oeffnen und bearbeiten. Woran kann das liegen?
Ich hoffe das Ihr mir einen guten Tipp geben koennt.

eigentlich muessen die Dateien die Endung *.trk haben, die Du ueber die "Import" Funktion einlesen muesstest. Die *.bin ist die PVT Aufzeichung, die aber ohnehin auf die SD Karte geschrieben wird. Dafuer ist der Mod nicht zwingend notwendig.

hab das grade auf dem 400er probiert das ist wunderbar. Die XML Dateien die bearbeitet werden muessen sehen genauso aus wie oben in der Anleitung

ich bin gespannt was noch so an Mods "erscheinen" wird

eventuell sollte magellan an ein "plugin" System arbeiten das waehre doch mal genial *liebguck*

On request, here is a short tutorial in english, on how to save your Track on the Tritons SD Card. This auto-copy script copys the active track of the Triton every time you boot the unit.

As the T400 & 500 do not execute scripts stored on the SD card automatically, so we need to make them do so. You will need to modify two internal files and copy three files onto the unit. To access these files you have to boot the Triton in the developper mode.

1. Developper mode:
- ensure the Triton is shut down (not in standby)
- press the keys Light-Up-Power at the same time and keep them pressed until a white bar appears. A somehow useless menu appears.

Connect the Trtion to your PC and it will be recognized as a simple USB drive

2. Backup your firmware files
copy all files, folders and sub folders on your PC. You never know what you will need them for.

3. Copy additional Files
Get the files: http://www.maps4me.de/uploads/Autostart.rar and unpack them with winrar or 7zip. Copy the three files into the APP directory on the Triton. It should then look like this:

4. Modify the Unit.xml file
Now we need to tell the Triton that these files exist and that they should be executed on start-up.

Let's tell the Triton our executable exists. Look for the file Unit.xml. It is located in the APP folder.

Open this file with an editor. e.g. Notepad. On my Unit it looks like this. It is similar on yours. All applications for the Triton are registered there. It is a simple xml notation.

Now we simpy copy one of these <Application> paragaphs and paste it under the last one. Then we change the Application Id to a new value and change the file name to ToCopy.exe like in my example below and save the file.

5. Modify the startup.xml file
Now we need to tell the Triton to start our ToCopy.exe on boot. To do this you have to change a file called startup.xml. You'll find it ti the APP\mgnShell folder:

Edit this file with notepad and add a line, like the others but with the iD you created in the unit.xml. I used the 132.

Save this file and you are done with the main modding. To power down the unit you will need to use the kyes ESC+Select+Power or take out the batteries.

Now your Triton will look on each boot on your SD card and will execute a script called "autostart.mscr". If it exists he will execute it, if not he will boot normally.

6. Prepare your SD Card
Use notepad or an other editor to create a file called "autostart.mscr" on your SD card with following content:

now you will always move your last track to your SD card when booting and will have them named to their last date modified.

The easiest way to access them is to use the freeware tool waypointer to convert them to gpx or whatever you need. (http://www.codepointer.de/waypointer/english.html)
